29 Jun 11: Dunhuang-Jiayuguan, China

It was easy to get to the large and brand new train station. Less easy to buy the tickets, but we now have the experience of how to draw and write our wish and with “Point it” it is now under control. Julien and Isabelle are in the same train. Wagon 16 and soft seats for a 5 hour trip. Very decent meal served for 3 $ on trolleys like on board a plane. The travelers are quiet for a change and the music at an acceptable volume. They each have a Tupperware of tea which they fill up regularly from the train hot water tap. At lunch time, they fill up their paper bowl with hot water to cook their instant noodles sprinkled with hot chilli pepper and dried vegetable and meat stock. The scenery remains constant for hours as usual.
