25 Jun 11: Turpan, China
Julien and Isabelle (Peltier) shared a taxi to tour the first half of our day to Jiaohe and Karez. Jiaohe is Buddhist Han outpost 2500 years old in a unique location surrounded by river acting like natural dovers. Just like Gaochang gives a better idea of what the city was. It is like a faint reminder of the Cappadoce cave houses, but are more brick built structures than excavated housing. Gaochang was seen from a donkey cart. Till now, we have tested and used all the modes of transport possible on this trip.
Tuyocq is just a Uyghur village surrounding a small mosque living out of melon agriculture. Just a photograph stop at the Flaming Mountains. We were heat striken by 14H00 and with the batteries completely discharged.
The driver took us to a dumplings restaurant thanks to “Point it”. This has been the most useful tool for this voyage. Every single day we use it to address all the multiple situations.
